The working day is the greatest source of inspiration, and my immediate surroundings play a crucial role in the design process. Since 2000 I have been working with my own designs, usually ceramics, furniture and textiles. Design is a combination of simplicity and functionality where each part, from initial idea to production, is of equal importance. Whatever I do must be clear and distinctive; I will not rest until I can see how all the parts in the design fit together. I have always considered the combination of creating something new and recycling a pleasant challenge. I express myself in different forms of visual art. In this case the old patterns from the local leather industry playfully express easily recognizable Ostrobothnian features, small houses and buildings to be combined to idyllic small town streets or imaginary rural landscape. Continue to the shop Eivor NybäckHandicraft has always been one of my great passions; being able to recycle and create something new. In my designs I will make use of anything - from woollen jerseys, laces and buttons to old cutlery and wooden objects. I want people to be able to see a “former life” in the end-product. Since most products are made from recycled materials, it is unusual to find more than one its kind. However, courses in silversmith’s work offered the chance to develop my growing creativity, and my interest in idiom and craft became predominant. Continue to the shop Hops-Shop! by JuthbackaAs often, it starts with a thought. A thought of a product we at Hops-shop by Juthbacka think our customers would like. Perhaps a thought that a boring product can be made a little bit funnier, that an everyday product can get the touch of vanity or the thought of creating a product we did not even know we missed.
Then we ask designers at Juthbacka cultural center to make a product out of our thoughts.
Together we create a Hops-product.
